It was introduced in Brazil in the 1960s, after its description in 1945 in Florida, USA. The Kent mango is known for its medium to large sized fruits weighing between 400 and 600 grams.
This variety is distinguished by its oval shape, with a slightly flattened base and pointed apex, and its yellowish-green skin adorned with purplish red spots. The pulp, almost fiber-free, stands out for its high quality, with a marked sweetness, reaching 20.1º Brix, and a smooth and juicy texture.
Furthermore, Kent has a medium skin thickness and a pulp/fruit ratio of approximately 62%. Recognized for being one of the sweetest and tastiest varieties, this variety is widely appreciated for its delicious and palatable texture.
